The Harems of Constantinople in Stories by Elsa Lindberg-Dovlette

Prof. Helena Bodin is currently visiting the Swedish Research Institute in Istanbul, where she recently gave a lecture entitled "Seclusion vs. Accessibility – the Harems of Constantinople in Stories by Elsa Lindberg-Dovlette".

Bodin's individual project within the Cosmopolitan and Vernacular Dynamics programme analyses how Constantinople is represented and valued in vernacular literatures from various languages during fin de siècle and high modernism. You can read more about her research here.
