Cosmopolitanism in European Historical Literatures

Professor Helena Bodin from our group will be talking on the topic "European Cosmopolitanism from Byzantine and Constantinopolitan Perspectives" at the coming spring workshop of the research group RELICS (Researchers of European Literary Identities, Cosmopolitanism and the Schools) at the University of Ghent.

Time: 17th May 2018, 09:00 to 16:30
Place: Ghent, Campus Boekentoren, Blandijn building, Large Meeting Room (130.007, 3rd floor)
Organizer: Dinah Wouters
Description: This workshop will be devoted to the concept of "cosmopolitanism". It will deal with how the concept has been interpreted before, and how it can be shifted in order to make it more valuable for the study of historical literatures and European identity. The workshop organisers want to map out the travels of the concept of "cosmopolitanism" in academic discourse to see how it might transform the view of the history of European literatures.
